The School - The New Golf Academy

Future success is closely linked with the promotion of golf at the school through the new Golf Academy and use of our own 9 hole golf course There is no doubt that being taught a correct swing at the age of 11 or 12 years is rather like learning to ride a bicycle or learning to ski. It is a skill and a confidence which will last a lifetime.

The importance of golf in commerce and business throughout the world is a fact of modern life A large percentage of senior executives in the United States are single figure handicap golfers. The following is an extract from the brochure which has been produced to promote the new Golf Academy at the school:

"Golf is a sport that is widely acknowledged as not only an excellent means of recreation, but also an increasingly useful business and social asset".

Matthew Rigby is now joined by the new President of the Old St. Beghian Golfing Society, Michael Coffey, in efforts to promote financial support for this important project. The Dick Harrison Memorial Fund will be donating £2,000 from its funds to the Academy to be spent at the discretion of the golf professional with a view to instructional video equipment.
