MYLES CRASTON (SH 39-42) writes from France about the famous 1941/2 rugby team that was captained by his brother, John Craston (SH 38-42), who sadly died in 1978:

“In the 172nd issue of the magazine, John Heslop (SH 40-45) wrote from Canada with reminiscences of the team and wondered how many of the players still survive. Like John, I too would like very much to know if there are any survivors, even if their rugby-playing days are long since gone! Perhaps they might like to write to the Bulletin.
I have lived in France since I retired in 1990 and have very happy memories of meeting John Heslop several times during the twelve years that I lived in Canada. I always read The Old St. Beghian with great interest. David, one of my sons was, like myself, on School House for two or three years from 1975 and my uncle, Hugh Fortune, was on Grindal 1911-1914.”
